This idea rewards students with a Read-In Day or Game Day

Idea 1:

Read-In Day – All we do is read.

Procedure:

Students can bring books and magazines from home and we read all day. Invite guest readers, allow students to sit anywhere and have snacks available. With a little build up, students think this is a big deal and a great reward.

Idea 2:

Game Day – Allow students to bring games from home (non-electronic according to our school rules) and play games all day.

Procedure:

Borrow board games from other teachers, check out yard sales, etc. Puzzles are wonderful, too. Students also think math manipulatives are great to play with.
