Description:

    The students will choose a topic related to the Vietnam War from the list below or an approved topic not found on the list and conduct their own original research and write a paper of what they learned.

Materials:

    Computer with internet access and word processing software

Activity:

  • Pose a question regarding topic selection
  • Conduct an internet search
  • Identify primary and secondary sources
  • Differentiate between fact and opinion
  • Present findings using the following guidelines:
    • 300 words minimum
    • Double-spaced with 1-inch margins.
    • Times Roman 12 pt. font
    • 3 sources minimum and listed on a “Sources” page at the end of the paper

Additional Learning Experiences:

    The students may expand on the assignment and create a digital presentation or podcast to present their topic and findings to an audience.
