This is an idea for crafting Christmas puzzle picture frames

K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Title – Puzzle Frames for Christmas
By – Barbara Franks
Primary Subject – Art
Grade Level – K-5

Objective: Students will follow oral directions.

Materials: yarn, puzzle pieces; liquid glue; glitter, or paint, or sequins; popsicle sticks; snow spray (optional); construction paper; a 3×5 picture of the student in a Santa hat.

Directions: Students will use 4 popsicle sticks together and then glue on puzzle pieces in a random fashion. When that is done, have them glue sequins around the frame, or glue then and put glitter around the frame, or paint the puzzle pieces and then spray it with snow. The next day, glue a picture of them onto the center of the construction paper and glue that to the back of the frame. Yarn can be cut and attached to the back with staples or glue for hanging but I attach a small flat magnet so it can be kept on the refriderator. I also play fun Christmas music while they work.
