Title – Making a handprint spider
By – Debbie Haren
Primary Subject – Art
Secondary Subjects – Science
Grade Level – Preschool – Kindergarten
black paint
goo goo eyes
white paper

Use the black paint to paint the hands of the kids. Then have them put their hands on the white paper with their wrists against each other. This will make the body of the spider and make all of the spider’s legs from their fingers. Then put eyes on after the spiders dry!
Objectives: Talk to students about how many legs spiders have. How spiders help people by eating bugs and insects and how important spiders are!

Extension: For older children have them write on a piece of paper a new fact they learned about spiders and tape or glue it under their spider on the bulletin board!
Have Fun!!
