Concept:
Types of business letter formats.
Importance of proofreading letter and what the proofreader marks mean.

Distinguish between the common types of business letter formats.
Define what specific proofreader marks mean.
Proofread a letter.

Lesson Objectives:
Students will expand their letter knowledge, by engaging in a discussion lecture and then distinguishing the differences between formats. Students will also know purpose of proofreading a letter and learn what proofreader marks are. Student will know how to proofread a letter.

Lesson Activity:
Lecture and discussion on the three common formats of letters and the visual elements involved in writing a business letter. Example letters will be shown and students will decide what format they are. Lecture on proofreading marks. Copies of a letter with errors in will be passed and class will proofread it together. Students will then proofread their draft letters made yesterday.
Homework: Students will make final draft of their letter.
