A thorough review of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and exclamations is required. An overview or interactive review of word usage in a sentence using the Internet.
Purpose: To enrich and reinforce student learning on word usage.
Objectives: Students identify and use the above word uses in a sentence and place words on the Internet site in the appropriate blank.
Resources and materials: A single computer and projector in a classroom environment or a computer lab.
Internet Addresses: Wacky Web Tales at www.eduplace.com/tales/
Teacher directs student involvement in a single computer environment and students are called upon to give input into the word use that is called upon by the website.
Teacher may review the site as above with students and on another day students create their own tales in the lab.
Tying it all together: Teachers and students may find this site rewarding and enriching to learn the various word uses in a wacky way on this interactive web site.
Evaluation: Students are graded on their correct choice of words not their story line.
