Title – Comparing Littlest Angel and Country Angel Christmas

Primary Subject – Language Arts

Secondary Subjects -

Grade Level – 2-5

Objective: Comparing two Christmas themed books.

Materials: Littlest Angel by Charles Tazewell

                     Country Angel Christmas by Tomie de Paola

Introduce and read (or for older students have them read) both selections.

Activity 1: Create a Venn Diagram of the two stories, writing what is similar and what is not.

Activity 2: Draw your favorite part of each story.

For Older students:

Write another ending or chapter to their favorite story.

Assessment: Students should be able to demonstrate the ability to read two different texts and evaluate similarities and differences.
