This scooter vs. basketball race idea improves basketball passing skills

      Using a basketball court, place five cones evenly spaced out along one baseline, and five cones opposite them on the other baseline.
      Split the class up into five teams, and place each team behind a cone. The first person in each line will be the first to ride a scooter. The rest of the line will spread out between their team’s two cones on each baseline. The person on the scooter and the basketball should start at the same baseline.
      The object is for the students in line to pass the basketball via chest/bounce pass from the first person to the second, from the second to the third, third to fourth, etc. until they get to the last person on the other baseline. Then they will pass the basketball back to the other baseline in the same fashion; fourth person to third, third to second, etc.
    While the line is passing the basketball, the student on the scooter is trying to get to the other baseline and back before the basketball does. After the first person has rode the scooter, rotate so that everyone has an opportunity to ride the scooter. This helps students work on their basketball passing skills while the student on the scooter is getting a good warm-up.
